Foundations First: A Comprehensive Overview
This isn’t a course, and it’s not a formal mentorship programme. It’s practical, down-to-earth support from someone who’s built their own VA business from the ground up and wants to help you do the same (with less Googling and second-guessing).
Whether you’re just starting your VA journey or still figuring out if it’s the right path for you, this is a space to ask questions, get clarity, and take those early steps with confidence.
As well as covering the essentials like contracts, clients, mindset wobbles and the tech that makes life easier, we’ll also start looking at your business from a strategy point of view. Nothing intense, just a bit of structure to help you make clear decisions and feel confident about where you’re headed. Think: playing to your strengths, getting clear on who you want to work with, and setting up your services in a way that actually suits you.
You’ll get space to ask questions, feel heard, and move forward with clarity, not just ideas.

What we’ll cover (give or take, depending on you!)
- Getting started with the practical stuff: bank accounts, Making Tax Digital, record keeping
- The things you really need: contracts, insurance, ICO, and the rest
- Setting up your tools: email, mobile, website, social media (without needing it all perfect)
- Boundaries and mindset: handling wobbles, setting your own pace, saying no
- Working out your first (or next) service offer
- Where to find clients and how to get them without feeling salesy
- Light-touch strategy: strengths, goals, and what kind of business you actually want to build
- Tools that can make life easier (Canva, Calendly, Toggl, ChatGPT, and a few of my faves)
What you'll need
A laptop or tablet, reliable internet, an hour of focused time, a notebook, and all the questions you can think of.

Foundations First is designed to be flexible, supportive, and simple. Everyone starts with a foundation session. From there, you can continue with extra support if and when it feels right for you.
If you’re on the Ongoing Support option and ever feel like you need a full 1:1 session to dive deeper into something, you can book a one-off.
Please note, all advice, signposting, and resources shared in this session are based on UK rules and regulations. The 3-Month Support Packages and Ongoing Support options are only available after you’ve completed a foundation session.

Foundation Session

Choose the support structure that works for you
Foundation Fixes
- 3 x 30-minute sessions over 3 months, *support between sessions on WhatsApp or Email (fair use), with tools or ideas shared if helpful
Firm Foundations
- 3 x 45-minute sessions over 3 months, *support between sessions on WhatsApp or Email (fair use), with tools or ideas shared if helpful
Cornerstone Support
- *Light touch WhatsApp or email support (fair use basis) – £35 per month
- Optional 60-minute top-up zoom call – £97
Foundations First is designed to grow with you. You might just need a single session to get started, or you might find that a few months of extra support makes all the difference. After the Starter Session, you’re welcome to move into either of the 3-month support packages or ongoing support – whatever fits best with where you’re at.
